Star Richmond spearhead, Jack Riewoldt, has his sights sets on boosting the potency in his forward line partnership with tall teammate Ty Vickery in 2012.

The Riewoldt-Vickery combination netted 98 goals for the Tigers in the 2011 season and ‘Jumping Jack’ is looking for an even greater return next year.

“I’d like to think that, as the two key forwards, we could crack a hundred (goals) between us,” Riewoldt said in an interview with Chris Stubbs on ‘Fox Sports News’.

“We were pretty close last year, so it would be great for the Club if we could do that.

“Then, hopefully, we can have our smaller guys and our midfielders pitch in like they did this year, where we had five or six guys kicking over 20 goals.

“We just need to keep getting that even spread . . . It’s so valuable these days that you can have midfielders go forward, like Dustin Martin, who can kicks goals and Trent Cotchin, who can go and play full-forward for a “rest”.

“They’re the sort of guys, who we’re hopefully going to get a few more goals out of next year.”

Riewoldt started his pre-season campaign this week following a particularly busy off-season of surgical procedures.

“I had five operations at the end of the season (ankle, two hips, finger and shoulder).  It’s something that niggled me from about Round 9 onwards, but it’s something you have to deal with it as an AFL player . . . it’s part of your job,” he said.

“I’m just excited now about getting back out on the track.  I started doing a bit of bike last week and I’m looking to run in the next three weeks, which is going to be good.

“I’m looking forward to having more exciting times at Tigerland . . .”
