Matthew Richardson gives Tiger fans an update on his AFL Fantasy teams and Superboot selections after Round 8.

AFL Fantasy

I only fielded 15 players this week, as I tried to spread the pain over the bye rounds.

I got a pretty rubbish score to be honest – 1397. You live and you learn!

My individuals weren’t too bad – Dean Cox scored 122 points, Dom Tyson 117, Aaron Sandilands 97, and Nick Riewoldt 98. I chose a good captain too in Tom Rockliff, who gave me 294 points – this guy is a Fantasy gem and has just ticked over the $600,000 mark.

Stephen L has kept his grip on first place overall in the fan league (just six points ahead of Karl N), while Peter P and his team “Pyskie Tigers” won the round with a score of 1828 – well done Pete.

Superboot

I wasn’t too disappointed with my Superboot selection, Jack Darling, this week…but boy do I wish I picked his teammate instead.

Around 40% of Superbooters had the right idea this week by picking Josh Kennedy, who kicked a massive eleven goals to be this week’s leading scorer. I can only imagine how those who used their Superboot card to double their score would have been celebrating!

While Darling netted me three goals, it has bumped me down from 10th place to 34th, and I’m now 13 places behind first, C Foster, who is on 49 goals. Foster holds a two goal lead over second place, M Endley (I might chat to the bosses about getting first names on this game).

There are a few more rounds left to claim May prizes, or sign up to get your eye in before the June rounds kick off!

Good luck for Round 9.
