Jayden Short was the only Richmond player to feature in the AFL Coaches’ Association’s Player of the Year voting for the Round 12 clash with Port Adelaide at Adelaide Oval.
The rising star small defender received two votes from rival coaches Damien Hardwick (Richmond) and Ken Hinkley (Port Adelaide) after finishing the match with 25 disposals, a game-high 10 rebound-50s, seven intercepts, four inside-50s, four tackles and a team-high 652 metres gained.
He reinforced his status as one of the competition’s most improved players with that top-class display against the Power.
