The VFLW Tigers are back on the winners’ list after an emphatic 48-point win over Williamstown on Sunday at the Swinburne Centre.
The 7.16 (58) to 1.4 (10) victory satisfied the ravenous Tigers, who came into the clash off the back of four straight losses.

Tiger forward Sabrina Frederick got Richmond off to a flying start with an early goal from the forward pocket.
Frederick’s goal spurred the Tigers’ intensity, and they locked the ball inside their forward 50m as they pursued goal after goal.
However, they were left with two goals and 10 behinds at quarter-time as they struggled to translate their opportunities into majors.
Richmond added another goal and two behinds in the second term to extend its lead to 24 points, as the Tigers’ excellent defensive pressure kept Williamstown scoreless for the first half.
The Tigers reappeared refreshed and animated after the half-time break, and booted a flurry of three goals within minutes courtesy of Monique Conti, Maddy Brancatisano and Jenna Colwell.
Conti’s goal was her first in the Yellow and Black, her teammates flocking around her in celebration.
A last-minute goal by Sabrina Frederick wrapped up an exciting third term, establishing a convincing 50-point lead.
It was a quieter final term, with both teams scoring one goal apiece, Williamstown’s sole major of the day.
Bolstered by a late-term goal by Grace Egan, the unwavering Tigers prevailed.
Egan was prolific, racking up a team-high 19 disposals to go with six clearances and five tackles.
Hunter spoke highly of Egan’s performance and her progress at Tigerland.
“It feels like Grace has been part of the program for a while, but she’s still only 19, which is exciting for us,” Hunter said.
“She’s a really long-term player for the footy club, in particular for this program, so we’re really pleased with the way she’s going.”
Conti was a welcome return to the side, dominating the midfield as she collected 18 disposals, two goals and five tackles.
Hunter praised her stellar performance.
“The way she attacks the contest, she’s so quick on the inside, and it was fantastic to see her kick two goals today from the midfield,” Hunter said.

Young gun Sophie Damon also returned for her first game since the 2018 season with a solid performance across half-back.
The VFLW Tigers’ next challenge will be Carlton next Saturday, August 10 at LaTrobe University at 11.00am.
