Richmond coach Adem Yze is expecting the best from Melbourne on Thursday night, with both teams coming off exciting wins in Round 6.

“We won’t look any further than what they did last week,” Yze told the media on Wednesday at the Tigers' Captain's Run.

“Obviously, when you have lost five games your numbers can look ordinary, but they still have some quality KPIs around contest, clearance, and their defence is strong.

“Last week they played against a really strong team and put up a terrific performance, so they have some good players who are in good form.”

Yze spoke to the calibre of the Demons' list, highlighting the work of small-forward Kysaiah Pickett after he kicked five goals along with his 24 disposals against the Dockers.

“I’m not sure who we are going to play on Kozzy Pickett because he played like a star,” Yze said.

“He is a talented kid, and we might have to put two or three players on him.

“When you are coming up against good teams, you know they are going to have good forwards, but hopefully they are worried about three or four of our boys in our front end.

“We are expecting what they brought last week, it’s going to be a quality game of AFL footy, and we can’t wait.”

Despite the dangers of the Melbourne forward line, Yze backed the firepower of his players up the front end of the field.

“We have Maurice Rioli, Seth Campbell and Steely Green, with Rhyan Mansell to come into the side, so hopefully we have the same type of potent forwards down our end,” Yze said.

Adding another string to the Tigers' bow will be debutant Campbell Gray, who got the green light after big performances in the side's VFL team.

“He has been knocking the door down and has been in really good VFL form,” Yze said.

“Campbell is a tall defender with long arms. He is a skinny kid, but he is really tough, so we need him to come in and play well."

Gray will be Richmond’s sixth debutant this season.
