The team-mates of outgoing Richmond captain Chris Newman have given a glowing assessment of his influence on the playing group, after four years as the Tigers’ captain.
Newman told the players of his decision to step down as captain, before taking to the field against Port Adelaide at the MCG yesterday.
After the game, several of his team-mates gave an insight into how influential his leadership has been.
