Richmond will play in the VFL’s marquee Thursday night timeslot for the first time this year, followed by a rare MCG clash against the Bombers as part of the Rounds 7 and 8 fixture announced today.
The Tigers will meet Frankston at Sky Bus Stadium on Thursday, May 27 at 7.10pm, with the Round 7 contest to be broadcast live on Kayo Sports and FOX FOOTY.
In Round 8, Richmond VFL will then kick off a Dreamtime at the ‘G doubleheader with a Saturday afternoon (2.35pm) clash against the Bombers at the MCG.
Richmond and Essendon have an entertaining recent history at reserve level, with the latest two games between the two sides decided by a combined five points. This included a thrilling two-point victory for the Tigers in the 2019 Qualifying Final, where Richmond turned around a 40-point deficit courtesy of a late Toby Nankervis goal.
The VFL fixture beyond Round 8 will be announced at a later date.
