The Richmond Football Club is delighted to announce Furphy as the official beer of the Tigers.
Paying homage to its Victorian roots Furphy will add the Tigers to its AFL sponsorship family.
The three-year partnership will see the Furphy brand proudly integrated across various Club activities, game days and digital platforms throughout the AFL season.
Born at the Little Creatures Brewery in Geelong, in tanks from J. Furphy & Sons in Shepparton, Furphy has firmed up its position as a fan-favourite in the Victorian beer market.
Furphy celebrates the art of great Australian storytelling. Whether it is in the pub after a match, the stands during a nail-biter, or down in the rooms fresh from a win, Richmond looks to add to the furphy tradition with great stories from players and fans, past and present.
Great moments on the field and great characters off the field live on in club folklore, like the seven-point goal brought to life in Furphy’s first television commercial. Furphy will work alongside the Tigers to find and share more great club stories.
Lion Managing Director James Brindley said Furphy was thrilled to build on its team list as the official beer of reigning Premiers Richmond.
“After a challenging 2020 season, Furphy is so excited to be the official beer of the Tigers. We cannot wait to see fans enjoying a Furphy and telling a few too.”
Richmond Football Club CEO Brendon Gale said: “We are excited to become part of the Furphy Football family and look forward to a long and successful partnership. After being around football for such a long time I’ve become very familiar with the odd furphy or two and hopefully 2021 will provide us with many more.”
