Richmond’s 2020 premiership team was the most experienced of all the 13 flag-winning sides in Tigerland’s AFL/VFL history.

This year’s triumphant Tigers had a combined 2925 games between them, with Jack Riewoldt, 283 games, the most experienced, and Marlion Pickett, 20 games, the least experienced.

There were 12 team members who had played 100 games or more – Riewoldt, David Astbury, Trent Cotchin, Shane Edwards, Dylan Grimes, Bachar Houli, Kane Lambert, Tom Lynch, Dustin Martin, Kamdyn McIntosh, Dion Prestia and Nick Vlastuin, while four had played less than 50 games – Pickett, Noah Balta, Liam Baker and Shai Bolton.

Oldest player was Houli, 32 years, 165 days, and youngest was Balta, 21 years, one day.

And the average age of the 2020 premiership line-up was 27 years, 43 days, making it Richmond’s oldest, ahead of the 1934 team (26 years, 282 days) and the 1921 side (26 years, 336 days).

The Tigers’ opponent in this year’s Grand Final, Geelong, had a total of 3584 games’ experience and the average age of its team was 28 years, 117 days.
