One of the key attractions of the planned Punt Road redevelopment is a bigger and better Tigerland museum, which will move into the area currently occupied by the Club’s football department.

While there will be plenty of wonderful Tiger memorabilia to display in this significantly increased museum space, the Club is seeking even more items.

If you’re over the age of 40, you probably recall the old Tigers Den, located in Church Street, Richmond, which sold great Club souvenirs such as cups, saucers, plates, glasses and hats.

We would love to have these sort of items to display in the new museum, along with old player and team photographs, player badges, RFC pins, footy fixtures, footy cards, menus from RFC functions, and anything else that was specifically produced for the Club or with a Tigerland theme.

A particularly sought-after item is pre-1970 copies of “The Football Record”.

The Club’s museum committee will be setting up a stall at the special Tiger Centenary Experience day to be held at Punt Road on Saturday, June 28 (before the ‘Blockbuster’ clash with Carlton at the ‘G’ later that day) and is hoping fans will bring along their donated items.

On-going donation of Richmond memorabilia can be made by contacting the Club’s museum curator, Roland Weeks, on museum@richmondfc.com.au or by phoning (03) 9426 5333.
