Pat Contin, Robbie Hicks and Jamie O’Rielly all played key roles in the 15-point Coburg victory - 18.9 (117) to 15.12 (102).
Contin had more than 30 disposals in his midfield role and used the ball well, Hicks booted five goals, all in the second half, while O’Rielly, who played further up the ground, had 25 touches and impressed with his attacking running.
Ruckman Andrew Browne continued his excellent form at VFL level, dominating the hit-outs (31) and gathering plenty of the ball around the ground (24 disposals).
Coburg’s win was all the more meritorious when you take into account the fact that gun Casey spearhead, former AFL star, Brendon Fevola, kicked seven goals.
