Richmond’s players are homeward bound after a physically and mentally challenging pre-season camp in Cairns.

The group enjoyed a rare day off to see the sights around Port Douglas yesterday, after finishing its ‘Amazing Race’ style competition.
The blue team, comprising Daniel Jackson, Troy Chaplin, Matt McDonough, Matt Arnot, Bachar Houli and Ben Griffiths, won the event.

On the final day of the competition, the teams travelled 90 minutes by mini-bus to Port Douglas, and met at Four Mile Beach.

The teams were instructed to build sand castles high enough to jump and retrieve a flag, which was attached to a beam above them.

Earlier, the groups completed a three-hour hike up Mt Sorrow, in Cape Tribulation.
