Here are 12 football facts about Richmond’s latest signing, Chris Knights . . .
1. He played his junior football with Waverley Blues and Vermont, before joining Eastern Ranges in the TAC Cup, where one of his teammates was Collingwood star Travis Cloke.
2. He was taken by the Adelaide Crows at pick 56 overall in the 2004 National Draft, where dual Jack Dyer Medallist, Brett Deledio, went at No. 1.
3. He made his AFL debut with Adelaide against Hawthorn in Round 15, 2005 at Launceston.
4. He has averaged 18.4 disposals per match in his 96-game league career.
5. He had a career-high 37 disposals against Collingwood in Round 15, 2008 at the MCG.
6. He finished third on the Crows’ goalkicking list in 2009, with 43 goals.
7. At one stage during that ’09 season, he had scored 21.3 from 24 scoring shots, at a competition-high accuracy percentage of 87.5.
8. His best goal return in a match is five, against Carlton in Round 9, 2009 at AAMI Stadium, and Essendon in Round 11, 2009 at Etihad Stadium.
9. He played in four games with Adelaide against Richmond, for four wins.
10. The most Brownlow Medal votes he has polled in a season are five, in 2009.
11. He twice finished in the top 10 of Adelaide’s Best and Fairest award.
12. His last game for the Crows was against Brisbane in Round 21, 2012 at the Gabba.
