The date has been set for the 2012 Jack Dyer Medal - the night Richmond will announce its Best and Fairest player.

The most celebrated event on the Club’s calendar will be held on Wednesday, September 5, at Crown’s Palladium Ballroom (this date is subject to change, if Richmond plays in the finals).

Trent Cotchin, the reigning Jack Dyer Medallist, is among the favourites to take home the award after a stellar season in the Tigers’ midfield.

Evergreen veteran Shane Tuck is a regular at the top end of the Best and Fairest count, while dual Jack Dyer medallist Brett Deledio is having one of his best seasons at Tigerland.

Richmond’s ruck recruit, Ivan Maric, is also a chance to poll well after an outstanding debut season to date in the Yellow and Black.

The night will also include the presentation of the Best First Year Player Award, Francis Bourke Award, Most Improved Player and the Michael Roach leading goalkicker award.

The inaugural David Mandie Community Award will also be presented to a player that has made significant contributions to the community.
