Richmond will head to the AFL tribunal tonight to contest a two-week suspension offered to midfielder Daniel Jackson by the Match Review Panel.

Jackson was charged with a Level Two striking offence against Adelaide’s Chris Knights, during the third quarter of Saturday’s match at AAMI Stadium.

Based on the video evidence available and a medical report from the Adelaide Crows Football Club, the incident was assessed as intentional conduct (three points), low impact (one point) and body contact (one point).

This is a total of five activation points, resulting in a classification of a Level Two offence, drawing 125 demerit points and a one-match sanction.

Jackson has an existing bad record of seven matches suspended within the last three years, increasing the penalty by 50 per cent to 187.50 demerit points and a one-match sanction.

He also has 94.66 demerit points carried over from within the last 12 months, increasing the penalty by 282.16 points and a two-match sanction.

An early plea reduces the sanction by 25 per cent to 211.62 points and a two-match sanction.
