The form of dynamic young midfielder Dustin Martin was one of the main positives for Richmond out of last Saturday’s match against the Adelaide Crows.

Martin had previously produced some trademark bursts of brilliance this year, without quite recapturing the consistency that saw him finish fourth in the Jack Dyer Medal in his 2010 debut season, and third in 2011.

On Saturday, however, he celebrated turning 21 during the week by producing arguably his best game of the season.

Martin, who looked lively throughout, finished with 23 disposals (15 kicks, eight handballs), four marks and three goals.

That three-goal return took his season’s tally to 15 and moved him into equal-second place on the Tigers’ goalkicking, alongside Shane Edwards.
