As Richmond prepares to take on Gold Coast this weekend at Marvel Stadium, we look back at some noteworthy moments against the Suns.

In the final round of the 2024 season, Richmond suffered a 28-point defeat at the hands of the Suns at the MCG - but in a moment that will be remembered by the Tiger Army, the game served as the farewell of Club greats Dustin Martin, Dylan Grimes and Marlion Pickett.

Pickett came on as the substitute in the third quarter and kicked the final AFL goal of his career, while fellow premiership teammates, Martin and Grimes, were in attendance and honoured for their careers after the game.

Martin walked around the MCG for the final time, celebrating his illustrious career in front of a packed Richmond crowd.

He is considered one of the AFL’s greatest players, finishing his career with three premierships, three Norm Smith Medals, two Jack Dyer Medals and one Brownlow Medal.

On the same night, the Tiger faithful also paid homage to Grimes, as he called time on his playing career after 15 seasons with Richmond, co-captaining the side from 2022-23.

The three-time premiership player was selected in the 2019 All-Australian team and was the recipient of the 2019 AFL Players' Association Robert Rose Most Courageous Player Award.

Another iconic moment against the Suns over the years came from Jason Castagna, when the forward kicked five goals on the Gold Coast in 2019.

The premiership forward had a day out, taking 10 marks and kicking a bag to go with it.

The Tigers beat the Suns in a dominant 92-point victory on enemy territory and would later go on to win the 2019 flag.
