Richmond has re-signed two of its most experienced players - midfielders Shane Tuck and Daniel Jackson.

Tuck, who turns 30 on Christmas Eve, has played 140 games for the Tigers since debuting as a mature-age recruit in the 2004 season.
Jackson, 25, has played 104 games since his senior league debut as an 18-year-old, also in 2004.

“In a week where we’ve announced the re-signings of several of our promising young players, it’s also pleasing to confirm that Shane and Daniel - two of only six players at the Club with more than 100 games’ experience - have also re-committed to the Tigers,” said Richmond’s General Manager of Football, Craig Cameron.

“The value they provide such a young playing list through their experience at the game’s highest level, their strong bodies around the contest, and capacity to win their own ball, is something we certainly appreciate.”

Tuck, who has managed four top-five finishes in Richmond’s Best and Fairest, had a lengthy stint at VFL level with Coburg during the middle part of 2011, but by the end of the season had re-established himself in the senior Tigers’ line-up.

He played the last six games of the year for Richmond ( a total of 10 all-up), gathering a season-high 32 possessions against eventual premier Geelong in Round 18, and underlining his worth as a ‘ball-magnet’ and clearance specialist.

Jackson played 21 games with Richmond in the 2011 season and, although not quite as prominent as in the previous two years, he was still a valuable contributor, averaging just over 17 disposals per match and adding his trademark grunt to the team’s midfield.
