Richmond will host Essendon in a pre-season practice match a week before the 2014 season, most likely at Punt Road Oval, at the ME Bank Centre.
The clash against the Bombers will take place on Friday, March 7, at a time to be determined.
The game will be played at Richmond’s home base, provided the redevelopment of the oval’s interface has progressed to a stage which satisfies AFL match-day requirements.
Member and supporter ticket requirements will be announced in due course.
All clubs have been fixture to play one practice match in the period between March 2-8 after the conclusion of the official pre-season competition, in which the 18 AFL clubs will play 18 matches across every state and territory in Australia in 18 days to open the 2014 season.
Richmond’s opening game in the 2014 home-and-away season is against Gold Coast on Saturday, March 15, at Metricon Stadium.
