The excitement is building in the countdown to Richmond’s world record attempt at the ME Bank Centre, Punt Road Oval, this Friday (February 24).

It’s all in the name of protecting children from violence and bullying, Richmond joining forces with The Alannah and Madeline Foundation, to promote the ‘Push Up For Your Mates’ world record challenge.

The Alannah and Madeline Foundation is a national charity, which aims to protect children from violence.

This big event on Punt Road Oval, will raise funds for the Foundation’s ‘Better Buddies Framework’, which helps to create caring friendly school communities, and reduce bullying.

The Tigers are seeking to assemble as many supporters as possible, to set a world record for the most number of people performing push-ups at the one time.
It will be an ideal opportunity for Yellow and Black barrackers to mix with their favourite players, and create history in the process, on the hallowed turf of Richmond’s home.

Jake King can’t wait to lead the Tiger players surge on the world record, and enhance his reputation as ‘The Push-up King’ at the same time.

The world record attempt will take place at around 4.30pm on Friday, following an open Richmond training session that kicks off at 3pm.  Participants need to arrive before 4pm to register.

Richmond supporters can register to take part in Push Up For Your Mates by filling in the form here.  You can also sign up on the day from 3pm.

Gold coin donations will enable the Club to raise funds, to put The Alannah and Madeline Foundation’s Better Buddies Framework into schools and protect children from bullying.

In preparation for the event, the Tigerland Superstore has also released the official Push-up King tee.  You can purchase yours by clicking here.
