Star Richmond spearhead, Jack Riewoldt, continued his impressive build-up to the 2012 premiership season with a strong display against Greater Western Sydney in last Saturday’s final pre-season hit-out at Canberra’s Manuka Oval.

Riewoldt, winner of the Michael Roach Medal as Richmond’s leading goalkicker over the past years, followed up his four-goal effort against Geelong the previous week, with six goals - all in the second half - as the Tigers downed GWS by 74 points.

“He kicked four points, before kicking six straight after that.  It took a little bit of time, he copped a little bit of a spray, just to make sure he finished his work, but the really pleasing thing, from my point of view, was he brought his teammates into the game a number of times,” said Richmond coach Damien Hardwick.

“That’s the great thing about Jack and that’s where his footy is.  He’s exerting real leadership qualities now about bringing teammates in.

“So, I was really pleased with the way he played.”
