Injured Richmond midfielder Chris Knights is proving to be just as valuable off the field as he did in his five appearances for the Tigers this season.
Knights was ruled out for the season when his knee gave way in Round 7 against Port Adelaide, which required surgery to repair his patella tendon.
While completing his rehabilitation, the Club’s coaches have utilised the 26-year-old’s experience in a different role.
“The Club’s been really good about getting me involved off the field,” he said.
“I’ve been doing a bit of coaching and a bit of opposition analysis...and I've been doing some mentoring and helping out with Coburg reserves.”
Knights came in particularly handy in the lead-up to last weekend’s match against his former side, Adelaide.

“I jumped in on match committee and a few other different bits and pieces, and tried to find out as much as I can about what the Crows are doing,” he told Triple M.
“And just giving the line coaches individual players’ strengths and weaknesses, so we were armed with as much information as possible.
“No doubt when blokes get traded to other teams they do the same thing, so it’s worked well.”
