Richmond will be chasing a record fifth consecutive win under Damien Hardwick’s coaching guidance when it plays host to Greater Western Sydney at the MCG on Saturday.
The Tigers made it four wins in-a-row when they downed West Coast by 17 points at a rain-soaked Patersons Stadium last Friday night.
It was the third time since Hardwick took over the coaching reins that Richmond has recorded four successive wins.
In Hardwick’s first season in charge, back in 2010, the Tigers defeated West Coast by 49 points at the MCG in Round 12, Brisbane by 19 points at the Gabba in Round 13, Sydney by four points at the MCG in Round 14, and Fremantle by 19 points at Etihad Stadium in Round 15.
Then, in 2013, Richmond beat West Coast by 41 points at Patersons Stadium in Round 10, Adelaide by 38 points (after the bye) at the MCG in Round 12, the Western Bulldogs by 60 points at Etihad Stadium in Round 13, and St Kilda by 64 points at the MCG in Round 14.
This time round, the Tigers have defeated St Kilda by 44 points at Etihad Stadium in Round 15, Brisbane by 25 points at the MCG in Round 16, Port Adelaide by 20 points at Etihad Stadium in Round 17, and West Coast by 17 points at Patersons Stadium in Round 18.
