Monique Conti has been rewarded for her outstanding 2020 season with selection on the wing in the inaugural AFLPA's 22Under22 team.
After the release of the 31-player squad, almost 1,800 team entries were created by fans across the country.
To be eligible for selection, players must be aged 22 years or under for the entirety of the season.
Conti was the only Tiger player to feature in the AFL Players’ Association’s 22Under22 - the only recognised AFL award voted by the fans.
Conti, 20, starred in her first season in the Yellow and Black. The ball winner averaged a team-high 19.8 disposals per game, which including 11 contested possessions, to go with 4.8 tackles and 3.7 clearances.
While was named in the Tigers’ best in all six matches, her most dominant performance came in Round 4 against Geelong, where she recorded 28 disposals, five tackles, two marks, four clearances and a perfect score of 10 in the coaches’ votes.
This is the first year the 22Under22 concept has been extended to the women’s competition, since its inception in the male competition in 2013.
