KEY POINTS:

- While the Cats are yet to secure a win this season, their losses have been relatively close. They faced tough opponents (Fremantle, Brisbane and Adelaide) in the opening three rounds but showed they can match it against highly-rated sides. They produced a spirited second-half against the reigning premier last week, coming within five points with just minutes to go. The 38-point performance was Geelong’s highest-ever score and indicated impressive efficiency, as they recorded just two behinds.

- Geelong small forward Danielle Higgins will be one to watch out for following a breakthrough Round 3 outing. The 29-year-old scored two goals and notched a team-high 19 disposals to go with four marks, five tackles and six coaches’ votes. Exciting teenager Olivia Purcell (18 disposals) also starred against Adelaide and has been a standout all season, the onball weapon averaging 21 disposals and five clearances per game.

- Having played a number of VFLW matches in Bendigo, the Tigers know Queen Elizabeth Oval well. Bendigo products Jodi Jacques and Grace Campbell will be looking forward to getting back on home turf, while Geelong also boats Bendigo talent in forward Joran Ivey. All three players will be sure to relish the opportunity of playing AFLW in their home town.

KEY MATCH-UP:

Sabrina Frederick v Meghan McDonald

This All-Australian match-up will be one to look out for on Saturday afternoon.

McDonald didn’t play the first two rounds through injury but produced a strong return last week against the Crows. The Cats vice-captain led her side’s defence, recording 14 disposals and four tackles just three weeks after finger surgery.

Frederick is Richmond’s leading goalkicker and contested marker after the first three rounds. Her athletic talent was on full display last week when she booted an exciting major out of the ruck, earning herself a Goal of the Year nomination.

It won’t be the first time the two key position players battle it out, after playing on each other last year in Round 5 back when Frederick was a Lion.
