Reigning Jack Dyer Medallist, Dan Jackson has been named to play in Richmond’s fourth and final VFL practice match of the pre-season, as he builds his fitness base for AFL selection.
Jackson, who has overcome a hamstring injury, played three quarters of the Tigers’ VFL match against Footscray last Friday, collecting 13 disposals, and being named among the team’s best performers in his first hit-out of the year.
Richmond’s first pick in last year’s National Draft, Ben Lennon will also play in Saturday’s practice match against Essendon’s VFL team at its Tullamarine home-base.
Lennon made a successful return in the VFL against Footscray last week, following a minor knee injury, racking up 16 possessions to half-time in trying weather conditions.
Jackson and Lennon are among 16 AFL-listed players selected for Saturday’s VFL practice match. Chris Knights, Aaron Edwards, Jake Batchelor and Liam McBean are some of the other Richmond names featuring in the VFL team.
The match will start at 11am on Saturday, March 29, at Essendon’s new base near Melbourne airport. Entry is free, however there is a gold coin donation for parking (full parking details below).

Parking: there will be no parking for the general public on site. Parking is available at Melbourne Airport Club, off Melrose Drive, 400 metres after the entrance to the Essendon Football Club. This parking is available with a gold coin donation and is approximately a 200-metre walk to the facility. Limited parking also is available in the residential streets, both opposite the ground and before the Mantra Hotel, (accessible from Melrose Drive). Please familiarise yourself with any parking restrictions that may apply in these streets.
