After weeks of gruelling competition, the Rumble in the Jungle competition has reached its thrilling conclusion.  

For contestants Dustin Martin, Brandon Ellis, Ty Vickery and Reece Conca, the title of King of the Jungle came down to a game of Hungry Hungry Hippos.

This year’s competition, hosted by Jack Riewoldt, consisted of a number of challenges which tested the competitors’ prowess in darts, gumboot throwing, Mario Kart and frisbee.

Ellis was well poised to take out the title coming into the final round. Despite a poor start to the competition, finishing last in the Mario Kart round, strong performances in darts and frisbee saw him rocket to the top.

But Martin was hot on his heels in second place, thanks to a Chris Newman-inspired performance in the gumboot-throwing activity.

Of the other competitors, Reece Conca’s dominance in Mario Kart was let down by his efforts in the latter rounds, while Ty Vickery’s Myspace obsession hampered his performance at crucial stages.
