Talented playmaker Shane Edwards shapes as a key factor in Richmond’s 2015 finals campaign.

Edwards, who missed five games this season due to a hairline fracture in his leg, is averaging 19.5 disposals per match and he’s managed to hit the scoreboard, too, with 12 goals.

But it’s Edwards’ ability to create scoring opportunities for the Tigers through his pace and silky skills that makes him such a valuable commodity in the line-up.

The 26-year-old veteran of 167 league games arguably was in All-Australian contention until suffering his leg injury mid-season.

Edwards’ Tiger teammate Anthony Miles sang his praises in an interview with the ABC football panel.

“He’s been fantastic,” Miles said.

“We did miss him during those weeks (when he was out injured).

“He just adds that little bit of class and he’s probably one of our better stoppage players as well.

“His lateral movement through stoppage is unbelievable and he’s really strong as well.

“He’s got a light frame, but he’s pretty strong for a little guy.”
