Tom Lynch provides a pre-season update.

Speaking to Richmond Media Lynch said the pre-season camp on the Sunshine Coast was “really good for connection.”

“We got away together, spend some did, (did) extra sessions, cultural sessions and things like that,” Lynch said.

“There was good buy-in, the boys worked really hard, and it was a great way to finish the year.”

Since returning to the club in 2025, the 32-year-old said the atmosphere around the club has been positive.

“It was exciting (to come back) …you don’t see many of the boys, so it’s good to come back and see what they got up to,” he said.

“We had a nice session where everyone sent a photo in of what they did over the break and that was really cool to see what everyone does when they get back with their family.”

As a leader of the club, Lynch said it’s important to make the club’s young players “feel welcome and valued straight away.”

“They’ve come straight from school and training late at night and things like that, so just educating them on good habits and training standards, but first and foremost, you want them to feel welcomed and build relationships,” Lynch said.

Lynch is excited by the progress of 24-year-old Rhyan Mansell.

“I think Rhyan Mansell's taken his training standards to another level,” he said.

“He works his backside off all the time, but he's training really well, and he's probably been the one to watch so far.”
