Richmond produced an appropriate response in yesterday’s clash with Gold Coast at the MCG, following its substandard showing the previous round against Adelaide, according to captain Trent Cotchin.
The Tigers surged to their highest score (22.6) and biggest win (83 points) of the season.
Cotchin, who reached the 150-game milestone on Sunday, overall was satisfied with the way the Tiger team rebounded.

“On the back of a poor performance last week, it’s always good to come out and play a really good brand of footy,” Cotchin said on the ABC.
“I think it was just a consistent, four-quarter effort.
“We were disappointing with our (lack of) tackles early on . . . we changed the way we did that in the second half.
“And, just to stick to structure when we had our hands on the footy a fair bit was good . . .
“The great thing about our football club at the moment is that we’re challenging each other to play four-quarter footy.
“You look at the top teams in the competition, and that’s what they do week in, week out, no matter who the opposition . . .
“It’s so even throughout the whole ‘comp’, which is fantastic for the AFL, but also fantastic as competitors going out every week knowing it’s going to be a challenge.
“We have another big challenge in six days’ time against Collingwood, who are coming off a pretty disappointing loss against the Swans up there.
“It’s a funny game, footy. You can enjoy it for probably half an hour to an hour, then you’re straight in the pool, recover, and you’re back on the horse pretty early on next week ready for another challenge.”
