Richmond vice-captain Brett Deledio believes quick ball movement is the key to the Tigers turning around their inconsistent start to the 2015 season.
Deledio, who is hopeful of returning to Richmond’s line-up this week, after missing the past four games due to a calf injury, wants to see the Tiger players back themselves in and play bold football, as they did during the team’s barnstorming finish to the 2014 home-and-away season.
“I think we probably just hold on to the footy and hatch it a little bit. We really just need to move the ball on,” Deledio said on this week’s episode of the Club’s official podcast ‘Talking Tigers’.

“You see the Hawks and Port Adelaide do it . . . just play on at all costs and get the ball moving. It doesn’t allow the defence of the other side to set up.
“Unfortunately, we’ve just been a little bit slow . . . I think it’s just fear of making a mistake.
“But ‘Dimma’ (coach Damien Hardwick) has always said to us, and he re-emphasised it, this past week, that ‘if you make a mistake, boys, that’s okay . . . I’ll go off if you don’t have a crack at it’.
“So, expect the boys to come out (against North Melbourne in Hobart this Saturday) and have a go at their kicks, and try and bring the ball back through the middle because, obviously, it’s the fastest way home . . .”
