Experienced Richmond midfielder Nathan Foley is making steady progress on the comeback trail from his latest injury setback.
Foley, who has been plagued with injuries over the past few years, has recovered fully from the minor foot surgery (a plantar fascia release) that he underwent on the eve of the 2015 season.
“It’s 100% . . . it’s fantastic, so I’m glad I had the ‘op’, otherwise it was probably going to be something that was going to linger all year. So, (it was a) good decision in the end,” Foley said on this week’s edition of ‘Talking Tigers’.

The 29-year-old veteran of 154 games with Richmond has returned to the playing field via the Tigers’ VFL team over the past couple of weeks and is in line for a return to senior league ranks in the near future.
“I’ll probably look to get a little more game time in before hopefully stepping up to the seniors . . . I’ll keep plugging away there (in the VFL) for the time being,” Foley said.
Foley is confident he can recapture the impressive form he displayed throughout Richmond’s winning run in the second half of last season.

“The greatest thing I can get is continuity, and if I can put stuff like training and playing together, then the form tends to look after itself,” he said.
Foley feels he will have a similar role to last year, when he does eventually force his way back into the Tigers’ senior line-up.
“It will be that midfield and also high-forward role,” he said.
“The way that footy’s played now, a lot of the high forwards push right up the ground and are often involved in the stoppages . . . It’ll sort of be along those lines.”
