Rebounding Richmond defender Bachar Houli helped spark the Tigers’ comeback in last Friday night’s final home-and-away round clash with North Melbourne at Etihad Stadium, in an unfamiliar role.
Houli was released from the backline and sent forward, in a bid to kick-start a sluggish Yellow and Black outfit that had been outplayed by the largely inexperienced, but energetic Kangaroos during the first half.

The move worked a treat, with Houli adding some valuable mobility to Richmond’s front half.
He drove the ball inside 50 six times, and kicked an inspirational goal from just outside the 50-metre arc, as the Tigers seized control of the contest and went on to record a 41-point win.
“It’s always nice to kick a goal,” Houli told ‘Roar Vision’.
“As backmen, we don’t kick many, so it was good to go forward and kick a goal, but more importantly, just to change things around.
“It’s great to see that guys in the team can change position and fulfil their role.
“I’m proud of the fact that I can move to a different position and fulfil the role and play my part in the team.”
Houli and his Tiger teammates are eagerly awaiting next Sunday’s elimination final clash with North Melbourne at the MCG.

“We’re really looking forward to that,” he said.
“I had the privilege to play against Carlton (in the elimination final at the MCG) two years ago.
“Obviously, the result didn’t go our way, but the Tiger Army were sensational, and something that I will never forget for the rest of my life.
“I’m guessing it will be even bigger this time around because we’re in a better position.”
Houli had a simple, heartfelt message to the Yellow and Black faithful . . .
“Get down there. It will be great to get your support . . . let’s pack the MCG,” he said.
“We’ll do our best on-field and, hopefully, the rest takes care of itself.”
