Inspirational Richmond ruckman Ivan Maric has some typically straightforward, sage advice for those Tiger supporters reflecting on the team’s elimination final losses over the last two years, and concerned with what may happen in next Sunday’s cut-throat battle with North Melbourne at the MCG . . . don’t!
“That’s the trap that people and teams can fall into,” Maric said on 3AW.
“We’ve just been focusing on the now, and not worrying about what’s happened in the past, or what might happen . . .

“What’s the point talking about the finals from the past?
“We reviewed them and that’s how we’ve improved, because we’ve manned up and saw what we did wrong . . .”
Maric is adamant the Tigers are far better placed to tackle this finals campaign.
“We’ve become more consistent, our defence is a lot better, and the culture and health of the team is a lot stronger,” he said.
“We’re a stronger team, we’re a closer team . . . we rely on the whole team. Everyone’s doing their job.
“We value all the little things more than all the glitz and glamor of what some people like to talk about.
“We feel that if we all play our role, focus on those little things and do them to our absolute best ability, we’ll give ourselves the best chance to win finals.”
