Richmond coach Damien Hardwick has acknowledged the consistently high level of performance being produced by talented Tiger playmaker Shane Edwards.
The 26-year-old veteran of 160 league games is in career-best form.
He again was one of the Tigers’ best, in last Friday night’s victory over Fremantle at Domain Stadium.

“He’s a special player . . . he can do things that not many players in the competition can,” Hardwick said on SEN.
“His ability to win contested ball and then make things happen, to make it easier for his teammates, is extraordinary. He makes those guys around him better.
“He’s a pleasure to watch and, more importantly, he’s a pleasure to coach.

“He’s got better every year he’s been at our footy club, which is a really impressive trait for a young fellow, and we still expect him to get better again.
“How far he goes is up to him . . .”
Hardwick said Edwards had an innate ability possessed by the elite players of the competition.
“They create what we call ‘one v nones’ . . . they put a player in space,” Hardwick said.
“That’s something the highly-talented player can do to a very high level, and a consistent level also . . . Shane’s one of those players.”
