Richmond pair Nick Vlastuin and Jacob Townsend are free to take on Adelaide at Etihad Stadium this Saturday after both were cleared of match day reports recorded in last Friday night’s loss to Collingwood.
Vlastuin had his number taken for engaging in rough conduct after bumping Magpie Taylor Adams after he disposed of the ball. It was the view of the AFL’s Match Review Panel that the force used was not sufficient to constitute a report and no further action was taken.
Townsend was also reported for engaging in rough conduct during last Friday night’s game after making high contact with Collingwood’s Jackson Ramsay. The Panel said that while high contact was made, it was their view Townsend was contesting the ball and he had no realistic alternative in the circumstances. Townsend is free to take the field this weekend.
