Richmond’s three representatives in the 2015 All-Australian team – Alex Rance, Jack Riewoldt and Brett Deledio – are the most it has had for 35 years.
You have to go all the way back to the Club’s last premiership in 1980 for the last time the Tigers had as many players chosen in the prestigious line-up.
That year, Jim Jess, Mark Lee and Geoff Raines gained All-Australian selection, in the lead-up to Richmond’s thumping 1980 Grand Final victory over Collingwood.
This year, Richmond has the equal-most players of any league club in the All-Australian team.
The Tigers, with three 2015 AA representatives, are matched by only Hawthorn, West Coast and the Western Bulldogs.
Alex Rance is the first Richmond player to attain back-to-back All-Australian selection since Joel Bowden in 2005-06.
