Richmond’s come-from-behind win over GWS was a continuing example of the team’s maturity, according to midfielder Anthony Miles.
The Tigers were made to work for their eighth win of the season against the plucky Giants, until a last-quarter surge secured victory by nine points.
“In the first three quarters, and even in the last quarter, we were really challenged by the GWS side,” Miles told K-Rock radio.
“To come out and play the way we did in the last quarter showed a great maturity from our group.
“To get the four points, we were really pleased. They’re the games you’ve got to win if you’re going to play finals footy.

“We’re not getting ahead of ourselves, and we’re focusing on next week, but to consolidate that win we had last week in Sydney, to win again today was fantastic.”
GWS continued to pile on the pressure early in the last quarter, with Jeremy Cameron’s goal extending the visitors’ lead to 14 points after seven minutes.
With coach Damien Hardwick’s three-quarter-time address ringing in their ears, the Tigers responded emphatically.
“It was just win the next clearance, win our next contest, stay in the moment, and not get too ahead of ourselves,” Miles said.
“I thought our leaders really stood up. Trent (Cotchin) played fantastically, Ivan was really aggressive in the ruck, and Brett and Jack and those guys gave us a real contest down the line.
“We back in our processes, and we back in our ball movement, and what we’ve worked on all pre-season and over the last five years with ‘Dimma’.
“We just keep playing our way, and back ourselves in. We didn’t go away from that, and that was what got us our win.”
