Richmond's Punt Road Oval has been vacated for two days, as players, coaches and staff travel to regional Victoria for the 2017 Australia Post AFL Community Camps.
The Tigers are visiting four areas on Monday and Tuesday - Mildura, Swan Hill, Kerang and Cardinia.
On Monday morning the Mildura group attended a Civic Reception, before visiting primary and secondary schools in the afternoon.
The group then hosted a Super Clinic at Mildura’s Sara Oval, where they put about 50 budding footballers through their paces.
Richmond youngster Daniel Rioli was excited to touch down in the Sunraysia region, which is part of the Club’s Next Generation Academy Program zone.
“I can’t wait to meet everyone here in Mildura and have a bit of fun,” Rioli said at Monday morning’s Civic Reception.
Rioli, 19, said he could relate to a number of budding footballers in the remote Victorian town.
“I come from Tiwi Islands and went to boarding school in Ballarat,” Rioli said.
“All I wanted to do was play footy and get an education but had to come down here – it’s a bit far away.
“We’ve got the Next Generation Academy Program here in Mildura, and we’re looking forward to them in the future hopefully being in Richmond colours.”
Richmond coach Damien Hardwick is travelling with the group and addressed local coaches on Monday afternoon, alongside assistant coach Andrew McQualter.
