Richmond CEO Shane Dunne has taken confidence from the Tigers' start of the season ahead of Saturday night's clash with Gold Coast.

Richmond has fought valiantly in moments across all five games, with lots of exciting moments from the young Tigers, which has excited Dunne.

However, speaking on Episode 400 of Talking Tigers, Dunne said the club isn’t settling for second best, as they look to snap a four-game losing streak on Saturday against the Suns.

“We have had some really good glimpses,” Dunne said.

“Brisbane was a four-quarter performance, but the others have been patchy.

“Listening to the players post-game, there is a sense of frustration that I quite like because they want to win.

“I love that they are determined, and we are not just resting on honourable losses.”

In search of a second win, Dunne said there has been a real sense of excitement around the club and he has been impressed with the growth of the side.

“We are in moments where the game is quite winnable,” Dunne said.

“We want to see growth, but we still want to win, and there is a real drive from the playing group that wants that.

“(Adem) Yze is really enthused by it and we all should be, there has been some wonderful footy being played.”

Despite starting the 2025 season with a losing record, Dunne took positives in seeing the next crop of Tigers pull on the yellow and black jumper, with five debutants running out in the first five games.

“They seem to just look like they fit in,” Dunne said.

“I think that you can see the calibre of the talent coming through, and Sammy Lalor would have to be favourite for the Rising Star.

“Train (Luke Trainor) looks really good, and even Harry Armstrong, he came in and had an impact in Round 1, but it is unfortunate now with the injury.

“We still have more to come, which is really exciting for Tiger fans, so with selection soon we might see more of them in a couple of weeks.”

Richmond will look for redemption as they square up against an undefeated Gold Coast outfit. Dunne expressed the importance of having the Tiger Army out in full force at Marvel Stadium to get the side across the line.

“We have to get the Tiger Army to Marvel,” Dunne said.

“Dimma (Damien Hardwick) might not have liked it so much, but we will play anywhere, anytime.

“The MCG is our home, but this is our home game this week, so now that it’s there, we just have to get the Tiger Army there and support the boys.

“It will be a good challenge, they are a really good side, but we are confident.”
