Castagna’s previous best goal return at AFL level was four against Brisbane at the Gabba in Round 4 of the 2017 season.
Later in that Richmond premiership year (Round 19), he booted three goals against Gold Coast at Metricon Stadium.
The only time Castagna hasn’t ‘dined out’ football-wise in Queensland, was against Gold Coast at Metricon Stadium late last season (Round 21), when he went goalless.
That excellent five-goal performance last Saturday highlighted Castagna’s importance to the Tigers’ line-up.
He has the capacity to create chaos for opposition backlines through his blistering pace, marking ability, goal sense and defensive pressure.
Castagna has 17 goals in 14 appearances for Richmond this season and an overall total of 71 goals from 66 AFL games.
