Richmond will host a ‘Many Cultures Festival’ this Sunday, dedicating its Round 17 match against GWS to celebrating the diversity and cultures of its players, staff and fans, as well as the broader Australian community.
The Tigers boast one of the most diverse playing lists in the AFL, and the largest membership base in the league, and Sunday's dedicated multicultural-themed match will build on the Club’s commitment to inclusion and diversity through its existing programs including the Bachar Houli Academy and Cup, Next Generation Academy, Indian Diwali Festival, and partnership with the Islamic Museum of Australia.

On Sunday, fans can engage and celebrate the Many Cultures theme by taking part in a 'Parade of Cultures' with the Wadaiko Rindo Japanese drumming group, Bollywood dancers, and a group of new Australian citizens. The Parade starts from the Swinburne Centre at 11:45am. The Bollywood dancers will also perform at half-time of Richmond’s VFL match at the Swinburne Centre.
Food trucks featuring a range of cuisines will also be available at the VFL game.
An Arabic radio broadcast of Richmond’s Round 17 match against GWS will be available via 3ZZZ.
The Club will engage in multicultural activities during the week, including a ‘Taste of the World’ lunch featuring a multicultural menu with its staff and players, hosting a group of First Nations people from North America, as well as hosting the Bachar Houli Boys Academy.
