Richmond captain Trent Cotchin has paid tribute to determined, industrious midfielder Kane Lambert, who produced the best performance of his brief league career to date, in the Tigers’ Round 1 victory over Carlton.
Lambert, playing just his 14th game of AFL football, following a successful VFL career, ignited the Tigers’ fightback in the last quarter, picking up 12 disposals (to make it a team-high 28 in total for the night) and creating numerous opportunities for teammates.
“He’s a little bull, ‘Lamby’, with his contested footy, and one of the hardest workers at the footy club,” Cotchin told 3AW.
“We just love him.
“He doesn’t say too much, young Lamby, but you know exactly what you’re going to get from him week in, week out.
“That’s why we love playing alongside him.”
