Richmond’s key goalkicker, Jack Riewoldt, believes the Tigers will have the essential strike power up forward in 2013 to help them make a quantum leap.

Riewoldt, currently second on the competition’s Coleman Medal table with 56 goals, has pinpointed a fit Ty Vickery as crucial to the team’s forward plans.

Vickery, who kicked 36 goals in a breakout 2011 season, has been sidelined through the second half of this year following shoulder surgery.

“Tyrone’s definitely the first answer for our footy club in terms of playing that key-forward/ruck role, but we’ve got plenty of options coming through,” he said.

“I think Luke McGuane, although he didn’t have his best game on the weekend (against Fremantle), but the three weeks before that, he’d been really good.  He’s a real competitor.

“Young Todd Elton, who had a bit of a glimpse against Adelaide this year, I think he’s going to be a star.  He’s 198 (cm) and could possibly play in the ruck as well.

“So, Tyrone isn’t the be-all and end-all, but it’s going to be good for him to come back and get his body right.

“There are plenty of options going forward, and no doubt the Club will look into the areas of the playing group as they see fit.  Obviously, free agency’s around, so we’ll be active and, hopefully, we can improve our list.

“I’m not a list manager, and I don’t know what we need, but if there are any good players out there, we’d be happy to put our hands up.”
