Richmond VFL has made five changes for Saturday afternoon’s clash with Sandringham at RSEA Park, naming Tom McKenzie, Phillip Moimoi and Sam Flockart to make their Club debuts.

McKenzie, the older brother of AFLW midfielder Ellie, is set for his first official outing in Tiger colours.

The 24-year-old is a former North Melbourne and Coburg VFL half-back who is a strong ball user and brings speed and outside run.

Moimoi, 24, is set to play his first game for the Tigers this Saturday.

Strong, fast and powerful, Moimoi is a former Next Generation Academy player for the Club who most recently featured with Sydney VFL in the 2024 VFL season. 

Talented 196cm hybrid Flockart will also make his debut.

Hailing from Old Brighton in the VAFA, the 21-year-old is a highly mobile ruckman with great endurance and ball-handling skills, with the ability to play multiple positions.

Also included in Richmond’s VFL line-up for Saturday afternoon is Maurice Rioli who returns from a hamstring injury, and Liam Fawcett (AFL omission).

Out of the side is Tyler Sonsie (AFL recall), Austin Johnson (injured), Oliver Hayes-Brown (managed), Liam George and Jhett Haeata (both omitted).

First-year midfielder Josh Smillie has not been named for tomorrow’s game, with the Club taking a cautious approach for another week as he gains training continuity following a hamstring injury.

“We just want to make sure that when he is ready to play, he is ready to go out and dominate,” Adem Yze said about Smillie on Wednesday.

“He is itching (to get out there), but we might have to pull the reins a little bit. If it is not this week, it will be next week for sure.”

The first bounce at RSEA Park is set for 12:05pm.
