Richmond has awarded life membership to three esteemed servants of the Club at the Club’s 2024 Annual General Meeting.
Anthony Schache, Johnny Paravizzini and Monique Conti were announced as the newest Tiger life members at the 140th AGM, which was held on Wednesday evening at the Swinburne Centre, Punt Road Oval.
Andrew Sloman was also presented the 2024 Alice Wills Award, honouring his outstanding dedication and commitment as a volunteer of the Richmond Football Club.
Anthony Schache has been with the Club since 2000 as a physiotherapist.
His extensive knowledge, drive to keep learning and improving makes him an invaluable asset to the Club.
He shows genuine interest and empathy for what the players are experiencing both on and off the field and understands the players on a personal level, which enhances his ability to treat them.
Schache will always go out of his way to get the best possible outcome for players, including hours of research and reaching out to specialists across multiple fields.
He is an exceptionally caring, intelligent, funny and hardworking person and can relate and connect with all types of people, making them all feel immediately at ease.
Everyone trusts Schache personally and professionally.
Johnny Paravizzini has been with the club in a volunteer capacity since 2001 within the property department, until taking on a full-time employee position in 2023 as our property manager.
As soon as he stepped into his new role, Paravizzini immediately began improving processes and coming up with new ideas to enhance functions of his department with the aim to enhance the performance of the players.
He constantly leads with positivity, always having a smile on his face and a can-do attitude, with no job too big or too small, and he always goes above and beyond.
Paravizzini not only gives his all to make sure everything is prepared before staff and players arrive, he also notices the little things that brings so much positivity to the staff around him.
He is a very caring, passionate, patient and supportive person. There isn’t a player on the list who doesn’t speak highly of Johnny.
Monique Conti is extremely appreciative of being our inaugural AFLW life member.
Conti's positive leadership not only during game days, but also at training, constantly sets the standards and expectations of her teammates both during games and at training.
The multitude of honours linked to her name, cement her as an elite player with a record of sustained performances and commitment to the Richmond Football Club. Last week she won an incredible sixth consecutive Richmond AFLW Best & Fairest award.
We congratulate Mon on being awarded life membership. It’s remarkable to think she has so much more football ahead of her at just 25 years of age.
The Alice Wills Award is named in honour of Alice Wills, our first female Life Member and first female inductee into the Richmond Football Club Hall of Fame.
The award honours outstanding dedication and commitment by a volunteer of the Richmond Football Club. Volunteers have been vital to the off-field success of the Tigers since its formation in 1885, and the award pays tribute to those who have made outstanding volunteer contributions.
For more than 10 years, Andrew Sloman has worked in a voluntary capacity for the Richmond Football Club as a member of the Governance and Risk Compliance Integrity Committee, and in more recent times, as a director of Aligned Leisure.
As a professional risk advisor, working with various governance bodies and senior leadership teams, Sloman has worked diligently for the Richmond Football Club and has been an enormous support to the Club in avoiding risks and addressing governances and compliance obligations.
