Late last week, Richmond captain Toby Nankervis expressed his gratitude to the Club after signing a new two-year deal that will see him remain a Tiger until at least the end of the 2026 season.

Following the announcement of his re-signing, the triple premiership ruckman said: “I am so grateful for the opportunity that the Club gave me seven or eight years ago. It means the world to me and my family and, hopefully, I can repay that faith”.

A couple of days later, Nankervis showed why Richmond was so keen to retain his services, producing a sterling performance against Geelong at GMHBA Stadium.

Nankervis, in his 135th game for the Tigers, had 17 disposals, seven contested possessions, seven marks, four rebound-50s, four score involvements, six tackles, a season-high 51 hit-outs and 253 metres gained.

It was the type of robust ruck performance that has made Nankervis such a key member of Richmond’s line-up since joining the Club from the Sydney Swans during the 2016 AFL trade period.
