Kane McAuliffe has the unique distinction of playing at three different interstate venues in his first three games of AFL football at Richmond.
The talented teenage midfielder made his senior debut for the Tigers in the Gather Round clash (Round 5) with St Kilda at Adelaide’s Norwood Oval as the team’s substitute.
He then played the following round against West Coast at Perth’s Optus Stadium, before being dropped back to Richmond’s VFL side.
McAuliffe was recalled to the Tigers’ senior line-up for last night’s Round 10 encounter with Brisbane at the Gabba.
In an extremely gloomy evening for Richmond, McAuliffe was a bright light.
He finished the match with 20 disposals, five tackles, three inside-50s, 266 metres gained and worked hard throughout in his inside midfield role.
McAuliffe is now poised to make it four separate states (South Australia, Western Australia, Queensland and Victoria) in his first four games of AFL football, with the Tigers taking on Essendon in the annual Dreamtime at the ‘G’ match on Saturday night.
