Richmond will once again have a strong presence at the annual Indian Diwali festival this weekend.

Diwali (D?vali,) is a festival of lights observed on the 15th day of the month of Kartika, in the Hindu calendar.

The event will take place this Saturday, November 10 at Federation Square.

The festival is run by the ‘Celebrate India’ group, and more than 20,000 people are expected to attend.

The ‘Tiger Zone’ Richmond Football Club station will open from 2-6pm. 

Grab an autograph from a Richmond player Alex Rance  from 3:00pm, meet Tiger Stripes, and watch Richmond CEO Brendon Gale take to the stage at 6pm.

There will also be an interactive football station, exclusive free Indian Supporter Group membership giveaways, prizes and more.

An illuminated Diwali boat, featuring live performances, will cruise the Yarra River in the evening, and a spectacular fireworks display will fill the sky at 9pm.
