Richmond Football Club’s fully owned subsidiary business, Aligned Leisure, has launched a revolutionary form of community leisure facility basketball entertainment by launching Jumpshots at Nillumbik Shire Council's Diamond Valley Sports and Fitness Centre.
Jumpshots is a basketball-based arcade-style concept comprising full-sized shooting bays located within the popular community facility.
Featuring a guest lounge, sound and light features JumpShots has been described as the future of basketball entertainment. It is a destination for basketballers of all levels to elevate their game plus additions to come include birthday parties, celebrations and corporate events.
Richmond General Manager and Aligned Leisure CEO Shane Dunne said Jumpshots was the first of its kind in a community leisure setting.
“Jumpshots suits corporate style events for bonding experiences and networking, as well as the kids and games markets,” he said.
“Those already playing basketball and looking to improve their game it suits well too, particularly the many Nillumbik locals already using the facility.
“Jumpshots gives them more than the two-minute warmup they are currently getting between games at the local level and is also somewhere they can have a shot, if they were not happy with their game, to get better for the following week.”
Dunne added that the concept reduced participation barriers for those in local communities.
“All you need to do is book and turn up, and we can do the rest for you. A fixture does not constrain you; you don’t need to find a team of five players or wait until 10 p.m.,” he said.
“You can play a game here whenever you want to. We think this will cater to people who want to get involved and participate but are blocked by some of those barriers.”
